MCI in older adults may not always lead to dementia
A study published in the journal Neurology states that mild
cognitive impairment in older adults may not always lead to dementia and should
be viewed as a higher risk classification instead of an early stage of
dementia. The study involved 2,900 participants, and 48% of the 752
participants who were diagnosed with MCI were cognitively normal during a
follow-up visit.
