Report: Medicare diagnostic radiology spending drops
The American Medical Association released data showing that
Medicare spending associated with diagnostic radiology services dropped $890
million, or 16% lower than expected 2020 levels. Diagnostic radiology showed
the third-highest shortfall in dollar figures, with radiation oncology $154
million short of expected Medicare spending levels and interventional radiology
about $21 million lower than expected levels.
