A panel of advisers for the US Food and Drug Administration recommended...

...today that recipients of Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine get a half-dose booster shot at least six months after their first two doses. The shots should go to seniors and younger adults who have health conditions, jobs, or living situations that put them at an increased risk for COVID-19, the panel said.

Though the panel's recommendation is non-binding, it's one more step toward authorizing the boosters for public use.

A separate panel for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is set to meet next week to share more specific details about who they feel should get a booster dose.
