COVID-19 vaccine update: Second boosters now available for eligible adults

Baylor Scott & White Health

To continue to protect against COVID-19, the FDA and CDC have authorized a second round of boosters of Pfizer’s and Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccines for those age 50 and older and for immunocompromised individuals who are 12 and older.

Adults who received a primary dose of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine may also choose to receive a second mRNA booster (Pfizer or Moderna).

Second boosters can be administered to all eligible populations four months after the first booster.

If eligible, get your second booster today by calling 1.844.BSW.VACC or using the CDC vaccine finder to find a location near you.

While we are grateful for the continued decline in COVID-19-related hospitalizations, it’s important to stay up to date on vaccinations. Studies show that those who were boosted during the last surge were 21 times less likely to die from COVID-19 compared to those who were unvaccinated.
