TDI adopts a rule for preauthorization
exemptions
The Texas Department of
Insurance (TDI) adopts a rule that will permit some physicians to provide
medical services without requesting prior authorization from the health
plan. The rule will implement HB 3459, passed in 2021, by establishing a
new process for granting, denying, and rescinding preauthorization
exemption requests.
