Dear Veteran,

It’s time to honor those brave men and women who lost their lives while serving this country. The true meaning of Memorial Day sometimes gets lost.

CarrytheLoad.org is on a 10-year mission to remember and honor our nation's heroes 365 days a year but especially in May.

As we countdown to Memorial Day, Carry The Load has established relays and rallies across the country to pick up the load for those who can’t.

We challenge Texans from all over the state to join Texas Veterans Land Board Chairman George P. Bush to help pick up the load. Together, we can honor and celebrate the sacrifices made by our nation's heroes — Military Members, Veterans, first responders and their families. Let’s celebrate the sacrifices they made by participating in this event and spreading awareness.

Invite your friends and family to join your team and honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Join the relay under the company name "
Veterans Land Board" and then join or create a team in your local region. Create your personal page and tell your story.

The national Carry The Load relay team will be walking and/or cycling across the country, handing off the American flag every five miles. Your team can join or cheer on the participants along the way at one of the points below:

  • Rally & walk | Houston | May 24 at 2:15 p.m. More here.
  • Rally & walk | San Antonio | May 23 at 10:45 a.m. More here.
  • Rally and/or tube | the Comal River - New Braunfels | May 25 at 11 a.m. More here.
  • Rally and cycle | Fort Hood | May 27 at 10:30 a.m. More here.
  • Rally & walk | Fort Worth | May 29 at 10:45 a.m. More here.
  • Rally & walk | Dallas | May 30 at 12 noon - May 31 at 1:30 p.m. More here.

We also encourage participating patriots to tag us in your photos from the event or let us know when you've signed up to be featured. You can direct message or tag us on Instagram @TexasVeterans, Twitter @TexasVLB, or Facebook @TXVLB.
