This week, Massachusetts
officials are launching MassNotify, an app to track potential exposure to
COVID-19. But with cases waning, some experts are questioning the timing of its launch.
Massachusetts is the 29th state to launch a tracing app; Virginia was the first
when it launched on in August 2020. “I think everybody is disappointed
that it took so long,” said Ramesh Raskar, a professor at the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
