The Small
Business Health Options Program (SHOP) minimum participation
rate is waived until December 15! During this time, your
small business can enroll in SHOP coverage without having to meet the
minimum participation rate requirement. This allows you to offer a SHOP
plan to your employees, even if you don’t meet the required number of
participating employees.
After December 15, your small business will need to meet
your state’s
minimum participation requirement to enroll in SHOP insurance.
In most states, at least 70% of employees who are offered coverage must
accept the offer, or have other qualifying coverage, before your small
business can enroll.
Need help with SHOP coverage? Use Find Local
Help to search for SHOP-registered agents or brokers in your
area who can help you apply for and enroll in a SHOP plan – generally at no
cost to you. You can also sign up directly with a private insurance company
that offers SHOP coverage.
