A recent study reports that lifestyle interventions can reduce the risk of cognitive decline. Almost half of dementia cases can be prevented through risk factors related to physical activity, cardiovascular health or other chronic conditions, and socioeconomic and environmental factors. Treating and managing hypertension in midlife may reduce the risk of developing more serious cognitive decline later. Lifestyle interventions for heart disease are critical and can be essential to brain health.
