NURSING HOMES FACE STAFFING SHORTAGES AND EMPTY BEDS

The median occupancy rate for U.S. nursing homes plummeted during the pandemic, from 85 percent in January 2020 to 68 percent in January of this year, Skilled Nursing News reported. And a return to pre-pandemic occupancy rates is still far off. 

Here's why, as well as what to watch for in your loved one's long-term care facility.
