The FDA approved an e-cigarette brand for the first time

Why it matters: RJ Reynolds can now sell its refillable e-cigarettes in the US after the FDA approved the product based on data that suggests tobacco-flavored products can benefit addicted smokers who want to quit or reduce their harmful chemicals. The FDA did not approve the sale of products with other flavors; some of which are believed to be more popular with teens.
