Omicron caused a stir, and doctors reminded us of
Delta
Why it matters: Any new or emerging variant of the coronavirus
with many mutations will undoubtedly prompt widespread panic. But as some
doctors have reminded us, there simply isn't enough known about Omicron to make
a definitive conclusion about it. And the emergence of Omicron doesn't mean
we're done with Delta. However, the US has made considerable progress in the
way it monitors new coronavirus variants.
