A fireside chat on math—my favorite subject

This week, I spent time in San Diego at the ASU+GSV Summit, an annual conference that connects leaders in education, business, and technology. While the weather started out more like Seattle than what you’d expect from sunny Southern California, it was great to be back with some of the sharpest minds and more forward-looking thinkers when it comes to the state of education in America today.

 

I had some great conversations about where K-12 and higher education now stand, how AI can improve edtech, and the role equity plays in all of it. One of my favorites was my keynote—a fireside chat with Jessie Woolley-Wilson, a leader in the field of education technology and President and CEO of DreamBox Learning whom I’ve known for a while. Among other things, we got to talk about my favorite subject (literally), math, and why it’s so important that students are motivated when learning it.
