CMS in March proposed a rule that would exempt states with more than 85% of their Medicaid population enrolled in a managed care plan from certain data and reporting requirements, in an effort to reduce administrative burdens. Nationwide, about 72% of Medicaid beneficiaries are enrolled in managed care plans.
