In just the past two weeks, COVID-19 cases in New England have jumped up
59 percent, a sudden
rise that has some people worried as we head into the
holiday season.
In Massachusetts, the seven-day average of daily cases has increased 83
percent in the past two weeks.
“Heading into the winter months when respiratory viruses are more likely
to spread and with plans for increased holiday season travel and
gathering, boosting people’s overall protection against COVID-19 disease
and death was important to do now,” Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of
the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in a White House
briefing Monday.
