Positive Alzheimer's treatment data brings hope and enthusiasm

Positive results of the drug lecanemab were recently reported in Alzheimer's clinical trials, giving those facing the disease hope for more effective treatments. On our blog, Alzheimer’s Association Chief Science Officer Maria C. Carrillo, Ph.D., says that while lecanemab is not yet in doctors’ offices, this development is history in the making: “This is the time we will look back at and say, ‘That was when it all started.’”

Virtual program explores the power of music on memory

The Speech, Language, and Music (SLAM) Lab at UT Dallas studies the connection between speech, language, and music in the brain. Right now, they are investigating the therapeutic potential of a novel music-based intervention on symptoms of Dementia. Join us on October 11 at 3:00 p.m. for this virtual progrm to hear Jenna Happe, a SLAM Lab member, share information on how music can improve brain health in people across all life spans and with various brain disorders.
