Today, the Centers for Medicare &
Medicaid Services (CMS) posted additional
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to Medicaid.gov, to aid state
Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) agencies in their
response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. The new
FAQs cover a variety of Medicaid and CHIP topics, including:
- Emergency Preparedness and Response;
- Eligibility and Enrollment Flexibilities;
- Benefit Flexibilities;
- Cost-Sharing Flexibilities;
- Financing Flexibilities
- Managed Care Flexibilities;
- Information Technology; and
- Data Reporting
These new FAQs have been integrated into the previously
released COVID-19 FAQ document, as we have done with prior updates. In
addition, we have reorganized the FAQ document and added a more
comprehensive table of contents to make it easier for users to find the
information they need. We are also posting a standalone
document containing only the new questions. We will continue to review
incoming questions and provide responses with ongoing updates to these
FAQs.
The information released today
furthers CMS’s commitment to providing our state partners the resources
they need during this public health emergency, and earlier CMS actions in
response to the COVID-19 crisis are all part of ongoing White House
Coronavirus Task Force efforts. To keep up with the important work the Task
Force is doing in response to COVID-19, click here: www.coronavirus.gov. For
a complete and updated list of CMS actions, guidance, and other information
in response to the COVID-19 virus, please visit the Current
Emergencies Website. Additionally, CMS has launched a
dedicated, Medicaid.gov,
COVID-19 resource page that will be continually updated with
relevant information.
