How Cassidy-Graham Hurts California

Cassidy-Graham, the latest attempt to undo the ACA, may be voted on next week. If passed by Congress, it could end protections for pre-existing conditions and lifetime caps, destabilize the individual market, and end the Medicaid program as we know it. Visit CHCF’s ACA repeal resource page to see the latest analyses on the Cassidy-Graham proposal, including:

·     A new analysis from the UC Berkeley Center for Labor Research and Education, which estimates that 6.7 million Californians would lose coverage in 2027 compared to current law. Coverage losses are broken out by California congressional district and county.
·     The latest reports from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP), which estimate that in 2026 California would receive $28 billion less in federal funding for coverage programs compared to current law, and $58 billion less in 2027.
CBPP also estimates, based on previous Congressional Budget Office scores of ACA repeal proposals that resemble Cassidy-Graham, that more than 32 million Americans would lose coverage after 2026.
