Kansas Governor-elect Laura Kelly (D) earlier this month said...

...putting together a proposal for statewide Medicaid expansion will be one of her first actions in office. The state's legislature voted to expand Medicaid in 2017, but the move was vetoed by current Governor Sam Brownback (R). Kansas currently serves 399,000 Medicaid and CHIP beneficiaries. Expansion would make an additional 150,000 people eligible for coverage, a potential 38% increase.
