Drug overdoses, suicide taking more lives

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in late November issued new data on life expectancy. Overall, there wasn't a huge change—78.6 years in 2017 versus 78.7 in 2016. More urgently for public health and policy officials, deaths from suicide and drug overdoses continue to rise.
