The SHOP Minimum Participation Rate Is Still Waived!

The minimum participation rate (MPR) requirement to enroll in Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) coverage is waived for a limited time! You can enroll in SHOP coverage without having to meet the minimum participation requirement until December 15 each year. This allows you to offer a SHOP plan, even if you don’t meet the required number of participating employees. After this date, you’ll need to meet your state’s requirement for employee participation. In many states, 70% of employees offered SHOP coverage must accept the offer, or have other qualifying coverage, before your small business can enroll.  Need assistance with SHOP coverage?
