Lymphedema: A challenge for many cancer patients

Lymphedema can be caused by cancer treatments that remove or damage lymph nodes. Any problem that blocks the drainage of lymph fluid can cause lymphedema. Tissue swelling is most common in the arms or legs but can also occur elsewhere.
