Trump extends Social-Distancing Guidelines Through April 30

From the story: Speaking at a contentious White House coronavirus news briefing on Sunday that involved testy standoffs with multiple reporters, President Trump declared that “the peak in death rate” in the coronavirus pandemic “is likely to hit in two weeks,” and said the federal government will be extending its social-distancing guidelines through April 30 (Fox News).

From another story: In a recent flurry of proposals, a consensus of sorts has begun to coalesce around several key ingredients for an American strategy to move forward while minimizing human and economic casualties. They include mounting a large-scale contact tracing effort, widespread testing, building up health care capacity before easing restrictions, making future quarantines more targeted, and allowing those who have recovered and have some immunity to go back to work (Washington Post).

The United States has a low rate of death compared to many other countries (Twitter).

Some people are throwing coronavirus parties, and police are arresting participants (Red State).

At the same time, they are seeing progress in Seattle (NY Times).
