Women and Aging
with Paralysis
Tuesday, May 11, at 3:00 PM ET
Register for the webinar.
This webinar will provide a much-needed exploration of this
important topic to help women better understand the aging process and
realize that they are not alone in facing the changes brought on by it. The
webinar will feature a panel discussion among four women living with
paralysis who will share their personal experiences with aging and offer
their insights, perspectives, and advice to women facing similar
challenges. Topics to be covered include the physical aspects of aging,
such as difficulty transferring, falling and shoulder pain, as well as the
impacts on mental health that result from the loss of independence,
loneliness and grief that come with aging; strategies for addressing these
challenges will also be discussed.
ACL funds the Paralysis Resource Center to provide
comprehensive information for people living with spinal cord injury,
paralysis and mobility-related disabilities and their support networks.
Resources include information and referral by phone and email in multiple
languages including Spanish; a peer and family support mentoring program; a
military and veterans program; multicultural outreach services; quality of
life grants; and a national website.
