Two key COVID-19 metrics in Mass. are creeping up

Two closely watched COVID-19 metrics are ticking up in Massachusetts

Data show that the amount of COVID-19 detected in Eastern Massachusetts wastewater and the number of confirmed reported COVID-19 cases have increased, my colleagues Martin Finucane and Ryan Huddle reported. But both metrics represent a tiny fraction of what they were during the peak of the Omicron surge.

The slight rise comes as officials and experts are closely watching the spread of the Omicron subvariant, BA.2, in the United States.
