communities that have developed good ideas for increasing the availability
or accessibility of transportation services but lack the funding to make
those ideas a practical reality. Projects must be ready to implement and be
completed within six months. Local and regional private nonprofit or
government organizations that directly provide transportation services may
apply.

ACL’s National Institute on Disability, Independent Living,
and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) has a new funding opportunity
for the Rehabilitation Engineering and Research

development of innovative technologies to solve rehabilitation problems or
remove barriers. NIDILRR seeks to fund research and development that
leads to new or improved products, devices, built environments, and
technological advances that enhance accessibility and usability of homes
and communities; increase access to safe, accessible, and usable
transportation options; or both.
