Enroll in SHOP Coverage

You can enroll in SHOP insurance any time of the year, so there’s still time to get health insurance coverage for your small business in 2018! 3 steps to get ready to enroll 1.      Learn about SHOP. See if your business qualifies for SHOP coverage and how it can benefit your business. To find the best plan for your business and employees, think about price, benefits, and features. You’ll also want to think about how much money you’re able to spend for group insurance and when you want coverage to start. Some businesses may also qualify for the Small Business Health Care Tax Credit. 2.     Talk to your employees. Find out your employees’ coverage needs. This will help you with your insurance decision, and you’ll get an idea of how many employees might participate. 3.     Get help. Licensed agents and brokers registered with SHOP can help you explore your insurance options and enroll in coverage at no additional cost to you or your employees. Note: If you're not using an agent or broker, you can enroll through your insurance company. Remember: For SHOP plans starting in 2018, there is a new enrollment process.
