When enrolling in SHOP coverage, choices you’ll make along
the way include:
- Whether
to offer health coverage, dental
coverage, or both
- Whether
to offer your employees one plan
or a choice of plans
- Whether
to offer coverage to part-time employees
- How
much you will contribute toward your employees’ premiums
- Whether
to offer coverage to your employees’ dependents
- When
coverage starts
If you sign up before December 15,
your coverage will begin on January 1 and you will not have to meet a
minimum participation rate (MPR) to enroll. This means you can get coverage
even if only some of your employees accept your offer.
