February 21, 2018 Watch: HHS Panel on Health and Safety in Group Homes On February 7, 2018, a panel of experts from across the Department of Health and Human Services discussed workable, holistic solutions that states can use to protect the health and safety of residents living in a group home setting. A key point in the discussion with panelists representing the HHS Office of Inspector General, Administration for Community Living, Office for Civil Rights, and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services was that group homes provide critical services and greater independence in the community for people with disabilities.
