receive Medicaid benefits on a fee-for-service basis following the state's
transition to Medicaid managed care. Governor Kim Reynolds (R) reaffirmed her
commitment to the program in January, despite AmeriHealth Caritas's exit and
high renewal rates from remaining insurers Anthem and UnitedHealthcare. 602,076 Medicaid and CHIP
beneficiaries were enrolled in Iowa's managed care plans as of the third
quarter of 2017.
