Integrated Care Webinar: Promising Practices for Meeting the Needs of
Dually Eligible Older Adults with Schizophrenia
Tuesday, November 6, 2018, 2:30-4:00 PM ET
Older adults who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid
have higher rates of schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders than those
with Medicare only. Older adults with schizophrenia are also more likely
than younger adults with schizophrenia to have chronic physical health
conditions like obesity and diabetes. Caring for older adults with
schizophrenia requires special attention to how needs and treatments may
change over time and to the impact of chronic health conditions, cognitive
impairments, and changes to vision and hearing. An individualized approach
is key.
This interactive webinar will discuss how to identify common
symptoms of schizophrenia among older adults, identify promising practices
related to treatment options and care coordination, and offer practical
strategies for meeting beneficiary needs. Speakers will share firsthand
experiences, lessons learned, and strategies to improve care.
