Arkansas Works: Updated Data and New Report Examine Enrollees’
Experiences and Perspectives
Nearly 17,000 Arkansas
residents have lost their Medicaid coverage since September for failure to
comply with the states’ first-in-the-nation work requirements tied to
Medicaid eligibility. An updated KFF (Kaiser Family Foundation) issue brief examines the details behind those numbers
based on the state’s latest data report released Monday.
In addition, KFF is
releasing a new report highlighting enrollees’ experiences under
the Arkansas Works program. Based on focus groups conducted with 31 affected
enrollees and interviews with four safety-net providers, the report
highlights issues enrollees are having with the new work requirement.
Additional research
related to Medicaid work requirements in Arkansas and other states, as well
as research about the intersection of Medicaid and work, can be found here.
Filling
the need for trusted information on national health issues, the Kaiser Family Foundation is a nonprofit organization
based in San Francisco, California.
