The Trump administration last month approved...
...both
Maine and Michigan's requests to add work requirements to their Medicaid
programs. Michigan's program, which currently serves 2,452,543 people, is set
to implement the new requirements in January 2020, though current Gov. Gretchen
Whitmer (D) says she is opposed to the plan. Maine's work requirements may take
effect as early as July, but Gov. Janet Mills (D) could act to suspend them.
Maine currently serves 261,128 Medicaid beneficiaries.
