Chicago-based
Oak Street Health opened its seventh primary care center in the Philadelphia
region Saturday on Aramingo Avenue in the Port Richmond section of
Philadelphia.
The
center for created 40 new jobs and is expected to provide care to more than
5,000 Medicare patients annually. It joins Oak Street's other Medicare primary
care centers in in Fern Rock, Lehigh Avenue, Parkside, Cobbs Creek, University
City and Cheltenham.
Oak
Street's holistic patient care model emphasizes more patient time with doctors
and greater access to support services. The Port Richmond center will also
offer patients social activities, complimentary transportation to and from
appointments, Medicare education classes and supplemental services in addition
to primary care such as podiatry and behavioral health.
“We are
committed to providing our patients with a community-centric health care
experience and are looking forward to making a difference in the lives of
seniors in the Aramingo area," said Amyn Andharia, regional vice president of Oak
Street Health.
