New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy (D) this week announced...

...plans for the state to launch its own Affordable Care Act (ACA) exchange marketplace by 2021, citing the current administration's efforts to weaken the ACA, which could impact plans offered on the federal exchange platform, Healthcare.gov. 292,006 people are currently enrolled in exchange plans in New Jersey. The governor said his proposal will likely include guaranteed coverage for those with pre-existing conditions. Twelve other states, including New York and California, offer their own state-based exchanges.
