Clarification on bulletin about adverse determinations

The Texas Department of Insurance issued a bulletin on August 28 reminding health plans, pharmacy benefit managers, and utilization review agents that a pharmacist cannot deny a physician’s order for a drug or treatment over questions of medical necessity or appropriateness.

That bulletin has been amended to clarify specialty physician reviews.
