Health systems are getting creative to reach their staff.

In response to COVID-19, health systems are looking for new ways to ensure that they are reaching staff about items like PPE and overall operational impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak. While most systems are sending out daily internal emails, the open rates of those emails still fail to reach a majority population of staff.

Communications takeaway: Health systems are looking to new measures such as video messages, question submission forms, and even phone hotlines specifically for staff. Using these alternative mediums should not only help staff get the information they need as they combat COVID-19, but also hopefully build goodwill with them as well. By finding creative ways to solicit feedback, health system communicators can help identify and correct issues that staff are seeing before they go public with concerns.
