Sentara Healthcare and Virginia Commonwealth University Health System last week finalized...
...their joint ownership of
Virginia Premier Health Plan. Sentara will own 80% of the plan, with VCU Health
retaining 20% ownership. Virginia Premier currently serves 233,781 members,
with the majority enrolled in a Medicaid managed care plan. Sentara's wholly
owned managed care subsidiary, Optima Health, is also a major Virginia Medicaid
stakeholder, with 45.2% of its 473,856 enrolled in a Medicaid plan.
