Webinar 4/24:
Learn about Peer Support for People with Limb Loss and Limb Difference
Staying connected and feeling supported is important to
emotional and physical health and well being. Now more than ever, it’s
important to use online tools to find someone to talk to who can help you
manage the limb loss or limb difference journey.
ACL’s National Limb Loss Resource center (operated by the
Amputee Coalition) will be hosting a webinar about the Certified Peer
Visitor program, which offers individuals and families the
the opportunity to meet with someone with limb loss or limb
difference who can be a good listener, offering support,
encouragement, and advice. They now have an app that can help connect
people with the program.
The mission of the National Limb Loss Resource Center
(operated by the Amputee Coalition) is to reach out to and
empower people affected by limb loss to achieve their full potential
through education, support, advocacy, and the promotion of limb loss prevention.
The National Limb Loss Resource Center programs use both traditional
and innovative approaches to educate and inform people with limb loss,
their family members, health care providers, policy makers, community
members, and the general public about limb loss and limb difference.
Resources include information and referral by phone and email, support
groups and peer support, educational events, and a national website.
