Why it matters: It's not every day a topic as sexy as tax policy makes it into WYWW, but this item is fascinating. With lockdowns and all the other challenges presented by the pandemic, many people figured state tax revenues would decrease in pretty much all 50 US states. That was definitely not the case. Interestingly, the tax revenue increase seen in many states also revealed some troubling aspects of the economic landscape in those states.
