A panel for the US Food and Drug Administration voted unanimously with one abstention today to...

 ...endorse lower doses of Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine for 5- to 11-year-olds. The FDA is expected to make its own decision within days, and then the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention would decide on its own recommendation.


Meanwhile, to give elementary schools time to vaccinate their student population, state education leaders announced today that the universal mask mandate for public schools has been extended through Jan. 15.
