Nearly 6,700 Afghans resettled in the US, more than 53,000 remain on stateside military bases, Pentagon says

Approximately 3,000 Afghans remain on U.S. military bases in the Middle East and another 463 are at U.S. bases in Europe, chief Pentagon spokesman John Kirby told reporters at the Pentagon. Those evacuees are undergoing security screenings before they are taken to the U.S. to wait out their visa process.
