Baylor Scott & White Health and Memorial Hermann Health System called...
...off their planned merger
last week, a deal that would have created one of the largest health systems in
the U.S. The two entities combined own 68 hospitals. Few details were offered
as to why the merger will not go forward. Both companies also own health
insurance units, Scott & White Health Plan, which currently has 216,849
members, and Memorial Hermann Health Insurance Company, which has 8,929.
