United currently serves 419,546 Medicaid and CHIP beneficiaries in the state, nearly 70% of the entire managed care program. UHC is the second insurer to leave IA Health Link, following AmeriHealth Caritas’ exit in late 2017. Centene Corp. already holds a contract to begin serving the state’s Medicaid population in July.
