New Brief Provides the Latest Data on
Coverage and Costs in Medicare Part D
A new KFF data note provides the latest facts and figures
about Medicare Part D enrollment and costs in 2019. The analysis
presents enrollment by firm, premiums among the top plans, and cost sharing
for generic, brand, and specialty tier drugs. The Part D program, which has
doubled in enrollment since 2006, provides an outpatient prescription drug
benefit to 45 million Medicare beneficiaries, including 13 million low-income
beneficiaries who receive extra help with their premiums and cost sharing.
