You can take steps to make your bones stronger and healthier, no matter your age. And Medicare can help you prevent or detect osteoporosis at an early stage, when treatment works best. What’s one thing you can do? Talk to your doctor to see if you need a bone mass measurement. If you’re at risk for osteoporosis, Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) covers this test once every 24 months (more often if medically necessary), when your doctor or other qualified provider orders it.
