Among
her duties at CMS, Goodrich has been responsible for the value-based incentives
programs and developing collaborations with other stakeholders.
The Department of Health and Human
Services is losing two key employees, one a regulatory insider
and the other the chief data officer for the Chief Technology Office.
Dr.
Kate Goodrich, chief medical officer at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
Services, is leaving the agency to work for Humana as a senior vice
president, Politico has reported.
Dr.
Mona Siddiqui, chief data officer for the HHS Office of the Chief Technology
Officer, announced in a blog post that she is
leaving the department, but gave no indication about her next career move.
Humana
did not immediately return a request for comment about Goodrich's role in the
company. The insurer is focused on the Medicare Advantage market, and in
October 2019 announced a strategic partnership with
Microsoft for aging populations within Humana's membership.
Goodrich
has served as director of the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality and has
been in the role of director, Quality Measurement and Value-Based Incentives
Group (previously called the Quality Measurement and Health Assessment Group)
since August 2012, according to CMS.
In this
role she has been responsible for the quality measurement and public reporting
work, the marketplace quality work portfolio, the value-based incentives
programs, implementation of MACRA and developing collaborations with other CMS
components, HHS agencies and external stakeholders.
