The White House, with an assist here from Politico, worries residents of Mississippi and Texas will cause “a resurgence of the virus” (Politico). Beto O’Rourke took it up a notch claiming it is “not hyperbole” to say the governor is “sacrificing the lives of our fellow Texans … for political gain” (RedState).
From Mark Hemingway: Is there a reason why Texas removing the mask mandate now is somehow more irresponsible than New York allowing indoor concerts with a 100 people a few weeks from now? I don’t honestly know, but it seems curious people don’t seem to see this as alarming (Twitter).
