A view of nature matters at the end of life
Sarah White found that when her mother moved to a nursing home
without a view of nature from her window, she became more and more lethargic
and sad -- but she immediately improved when moved to a room with a beautiful
view. "Studies show that connection to nature reduces stress hormones and
all that goes with that. At end of life, that access is very important,"
says architect Doug Hursh.
