Oral health and overall
health are inextricably linked. But according to a new CareQuest
Institute visual report, medical-dental collaboration is still uncommon.
The report, drawn from two national surveys, revealed that 63% of adults
said their primary medical doctor “never” or “rarely” asked about their
oral health. Both consumers and dental providers described a lack of
integration between medical and oral health care in the surveys and
expressed a desire for increased interprofessional collaboration.
